However, they do mean that in an emergency they can be much faster to get out of than any buckle up cuffs/collar ever will be. The poppers are very stiff to get them to clip closed but once you get the angle and pressure right it's fine. I would say if you don't push with a finger on either side of the popper and just press it against the partner being restrained they are likely to find it pretty uncomfortable or maybe painful to do up. We tested it on my wrist and I confirmed with my partner that "Yes, he was pushing it hard enough into my wrist and wrist bones that it hurt until it clipped closed." The leather is soft against the skin and the red outside is a soft textured velvety/velour material. If I was left alone restrained with these, I reckon with enough time I could potentially get the wrists undone and get out without help.
